ARTkrave (Carlos Guevara) is a 29 year old artist born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. At a young age he had been inspired by Surrealism and Vanitas ( a form of symbolic art created to remind us that our vanity, material possessions, and pursuits do not preclude us from death, that is inevitable) which is portrayed in a variety of his art. At times he can incorporate inspiration through Japanese style manga, anime, and Japanese culture.

 

At the age of 16, ARTkrave began to be featured in local newspapers and website blogs where his murals would be portrayed. Soon after he began to be exhibited in a variety of successful solo exhibitions as well as group exhibitions. Some of his artwork can be found in places such as Black Creek and Weston Rd, along the wall of the bridge, Ontario Place, as well as along the Falstaff Community Centre walls to name a few of his pieces.

 

ARTkrave does not only express his artwork through murals and paintings but is talented as well in a variety of mediums, this includes videography, photography, oil painting, ink painting, watercolours, graphic design, as well as sells his art through prints, art books and even apparel.

 

The artist streams his talent on various media platforms such as Twitch where had become affiliated for over the past 5 years which has helped him build his community of fans and followers.
